Our Leadership Team
With over 150 years of combined experience, we've got a well-seasoned team at the helm.

Kevin Smith
Chief Executive Officer
Kevin joined the business back in 2004 and has over 25 years of experience working in Retail and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Food Supply. He previously worked with ASDA for over 13 years, where he held a variety of roles, from working in stores to head office, supply chain, trading, retail operations and format. He’s also previously held senior commercial roles at Youngs Bluecrest before joining Fullers.
Since joining the business, Kevin has played an integral role in the business’ growth. He previously operated as Commercial Director, where he led the customer-facing teams for many years to shape our strategy, and now works as CEO. Kevin is a very proud dad of 2 children and enjoys spending time with them and the family labrador.

Alec Witts
Technical Director
Alec joined Fullers in 2012, after working as a Meat and Poultry Technical Manager at ASDA and Iceland. He also previously held various technical, NPD and business development roles in food and manufacturing, mainly in the meat and poultry sector.
Since joining Fullers Foods, Alec has built an incredibly talented team of technical professionals who provide the necessary support and guidance to the Supplier Partners. Their remit is wide-ranging, including audit and preparation, factory design and development, risk management and managing the technical relationship with customers. Alec spends his time away from work with his wife Bernadette and his son Michael. He also enjoys watching sports (of all types!) and travelling whenever he gets the chance.

Clare Mcintosh
Commercial & Supply Chain Director
Clare has over 25 years’ experience, grounded in category management, and trade and brand marketing. In these roles, she worked across well-known national and own-label retail brands.
She joined the business back in 2016 having previously worked for Muller Yogurts and Froneri Ice Cream. Clare joined Kevin and the Fullers team to manage the ASDA business unit, before later also assuming responsibility for the supply chain team during the pandemic. Clare is forward-thinking with a can-do, results-focused attitude and she thrives on working with energised, proactive teams. She’s a proud mum to two boys, Tom and Fin, and enjoys having adventures with them and the family dog, Pickles.

Leigh Clare
Head of NPD
With over 28 years of experience working in FMCG Food manufacturing and supply, Leigh joined the business back in 2012. He previously worked in the meat, fish, and poultry industry for over 17 years with leading manufacturers across the UK, Europe and the Far East managing new product and process development from concept to launch.
Since joining, Leigh has played an integral part in the business both in commercial management and new product development and now leads the NPD team.

Liam Higginbotham
Business Development Director
With 12 years of experience in retail and FMCG food commercial roles, Liam joined Fullers in 2017. After obtaining his law degree, Liam worked in various buying positions for Morrisons and Iceland before he joined Fullers to manage a number of retail and food service accounts.
More recently, he’s moved into developing Fullers' new business strategy, determining how brands are launched in the UK and abroad. This role combines his passion for innovation and Fullers’ business model across a number of manufacturing capabilities to bring new and exciting products to market. Outside of work, Liam is the proud father of Myra and loves spending time with her and his partner Megan, enjoying family holidays, and eating various new cuisines!

Mark Doyle
Sales Director
Mark joined the industry in 1998 working for Imperial Tobacco. Since then, he has worked in various Commercial roles across the impulse, ambient and frozen food categories, with roles at Cadbury (Mondelez), Premier Foods, Princes Foods and Baxters Food Group.
More recently, Mark has held a number of senior commercial positions with McCain Foods. Mark joined the team at Fullers Food in April 2023 and is focused on developing our people and our business further by collaborating and understanding the needs of our customers, supply partners and consumers. Mark is the proud father of two young adults and is enjoying watching them make their own way in the world.

Rebecca Allan
Head of Procurement & Operations
With 15 years’ experience working in Retail and FMCG account management, Rebecca joined the business back in 2019. After achieving a first-class degree in Business Studies from Lancaster University, Rebecca started her career in retail buying with ASDA and Sainsburys/Netto.
Rebecca then made the move over to the supply base, holding roles within 2Sisters food group and Greencore/BBF before joining Fullers. During her time with Fullers, Rebecca has commercially managed a key growth account before moving to manage procurement alongside Kevin. When not at work, Rebecca can usually be found enjoying the great outdoors.

Rupert Scales
Head of Finance
Rupert qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 with Solomon Hare, before being appointed as Manager within their Corporate Finance Department. He then moved into a senior finance role with kitchen retailer Magnet, before joining recruitment company Adderley Featherstone plc as Finance Director and Company Secretary in 2005.
Rupert joined Fullers Foods in 2009 to head up the finance department, and it’s been a position he’s enjoyed during the company’s expansion into a leading supplier within the UK retail and food service market. Away from work, Rupert loves spending time with his family and friends, is a keen skier, a member of the MCC, and a marginally improving golfer!
